Mitchell-Innes & Nash is pleased to present Garden in Delft: de Kooning Landscapes, 1928-1988, a landmark survey of eight de Kooning landscapes spanning seven decades. The comprehensive exhibition includes rare examples of the artist’s early work from the 1920s and 1930s; a seminal cityscape from the 1950s; significant works from his first years in East Hampton (1960s); and abstract landscapes from the 1970s and 1980s. The show culminates with the important Garden in Delft painting which dates from 1987. In conjunction with the exhibition, the gallery will publish a fully illustrated catalogue with an essay by critic and scholar David Anfam. An opening night reception will take place at Mitchell-Innes & Nash on May 3, from 6 to 8pm together with the opening of Picasso: The Berggruen Album, an exhibition of 26 works on paper from 1970.
