We are pleased to collaborate with our colleagues at Colnaghi on this exhibition, "In the Company of Old Masters: Julian Schnabel, Tina Barney and Eve Sussman & the Rufus Corporation". We have been interested for some time in the concept of pairing works by contemporary American artists who have looked seriously at the Old Masters with original source material, and this collaboration is uniquely suited to making this idea a reality. The three artists chosen by Mitchell-Innes & Nash for this project reflect the diversity of media available to artists today, and the limitless possibilities that these tools present. This exhibition brings together a photographer, a video artist and a contemporary painter, all of whom have closely examined and been inspired by Old Master paintings and drawings.
