Münsterberg 16, 4051 Basel

Tiona Nekkia McClodden will present a new, performative work in response to Chris Marker’s short film, La Jetée (1962), which stars actor Davos Hanich who misidentifies an object of Ogun, the Yoruba god of war and iron. In a defiant act to counter cinematic erasure, McClodden will place her Achaba de Ogun on view alongside a 1960s painting by Hanich in the basement of the oldest Blacksmith shop in Basel surrounded by iron and steel. Over the course of five days, the arrangement of the Achaba and painting will change.
